The Excellence in Family Medicine Award, sponsored by the Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia, is an annual accolade designed to acknowledge a physician who enhances the quality of health care by promoting and practicing family medicine.

This outstanding achievement in Family Medicine is unlike any other in West Virginia. The emphasis of this award is to acknowledge not only professional success, but the selfless promotion of the practice of family medicine throughout our region through community service, teaching and mentoring, and serving as a resource to future family physicians. 

• Deadline for the application is August 31 each year

• The winner will receive their award at the Annual Jose I. Ricard Family Medicine & Sports Medicine Conference in November. 

• In addition, a $1000 check will be presented to the Family Medicine Interest Group of winner’s choice from the following schools: West Virginia University School of Medicine, West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Marshall University Joan C Edwards School of Medicine.
